A Proposal for Christian Pornography?

Bible Truth Vs. Church Doctrine

Just about every other industry has a Christian off-shoot. Even such things as hard rock music. You would think such things are oxymorons. But what about Christian erotica? It does sound lke an oxymoron, doesn't it? Quite likely you would offend just a few people with such a proposal.

Honestly, though, don't you think it is high time we saw someone spearhead a moral version of porn? Yes, I am one of those 0.5% Bible believing Christians who thinks certain types of porn are permissible. I guess I must be a sensual Christian in bondage, as some would assume. Or, perhaps, I am one of the few honest Christians out there? How many other Christians do you know that are OK with pornography? Yet, you and I BOTH know that they watch it, whether they are OK with it or not.. So, is it better for me to have a stance that can be biblically defended and be honest, or is it better to take the common stance and then be a hypocrite behind closed doors?

Lets get you back to reality here. Next time you goto church, take a look around. See all those men (and women). You see them all? They are no different than you. They watch pornography during the week. See the pastor. You got probably a 30% chance he watched it last week as well. Flip a coin and see if your pastor was one of that 30%.

The cycle of beating yourself up for watching pornography can end.. You either want it so that you can watch it without thinking it is a sin, or you want it so God takes it away and you never have to deal with it again. Yes, I have been there myself.. You beat yourself up and tell yourself, I am not worthy to be a Christian. Look at me, I just watched porn and now I am going to witness to someone or goto church or maybe even give a sermon?

Now that I got you back to reality, if you have not already done so, please look at some of my other articles, particularly, if you have not seen my argument as to why some types of pornography are not evil. Yes, much of it is evil, however, some of it is permissible to watch.

Now, wouldn't it be nice if you could goto a website that did not have all the evil porn and just had the decent kind? Yes, maybe the word "Christian" shouldn't be put in front of it, so you tell me a good replacement word. Maybe clean porn? I guess no matter how you say it, it doesn't sound right, does it? Could that be our society who has engrained that in you?

I am being serious now. Ask yourself, "What would Christians 500 years in the future think about us?" Well, I have to ask you, "What do you think about Christians back in the middle ages?" Have you studied any church history? Looked into any of their doctrines? Is it just me, or did they some of them seem way off track back then, while others seemed on track? Some seemed to have doctrine from another planet, not even close to right when it came to the Bible? Now, what do you think Christians 500 years from now are going to think about you? Are you SURE the Bible says all pornography is evil? Are you SURE you are reading the Bible right? Or, is it possible my arguments about what the Bible really says about pornography, sex, marriage and related topics are correct?

The more I read and the more I study this topic, the more I have a desire to expose these myths about certain sexual sins. I find it disturbing that so many Christians can have a wrong viewpoint on this topic. However, as you and I know about history, there were many times in church history where Christians were way off track on various doctrines. Could it be today, Christians are off track on some doctrines in such a manner as only even 0.5% of the Christian population could be correct? Take for example polygamy. I would not doubt 99.5% of Christians think it is a sin as well, however, ask yourself how you can condemn such an action, if MANY of the saints and revered characters of the Old Testament were polygamists.. How is it you tell yourself, "Well it was OK back then, but now it is a sin worse than being gay". How do you come to such a conclusion? Do you actually study scripture, or are you just following the masses? What if the masses are all walking off a cliff, will you follow them there as well? Just because your pastor has a Master's degree, doesn't mean he somehow has a stranglehold on truth. Just like with all professions, you can find people who will say the exact opposite of their peers.

James Dobson, whom I respect, states that polygamy is worse than gay activity, atleast on a civil rights level. He sees the potential for gay marriage to lead to worse things, such as polygamy. My question to him is, "How in the world did you come to the conclusion that polygamy is worse than gay activity?" Honestly, do people read the Bible anymore, or do they have some sort of permanent goggles on that they force the Bible to say what they want it to say? I don't know about you, but my Bible, a standard NKJV clearly indicates to any rational person that polygamy is not condemned. You have to take a couple scriptures out of context and ignore about 40 passages to come to the conclusion polygamy is a sin. Don't believe me? Look at my article linked here.
